Japan's under 12 baseball team has claimed the 9th Asian Championship, after beating regional giant South Korea 4-1 at the final in Zhongshan, Guangdong province, on Tuesday.
Chinese Taipei placed third after beating China 4-0.
About 150 young players from eight countries and regions in Asia participated in the five-day championship, a flagship event of the Baseball Federation of Asia.
It's held every two years to promote baseball among young people.
The city of Zhongshan, a Pearl River City, plans to invest 2 billion yuan ($289.6 million) to upgrade baseball facilities since Sept 2015, to boost the sport and develop into a major baseball base in China.
